January 2009

This month has been a pretty quiet guiding month for me. I did start my first aid training for my Duke of Edinburgh expedition and we hope to have multiple practice runs and the final trip before I go to university in September, which is pretty exciting. My Queen's Guide progress is steady, I still need a skill but that will come eventually.

The Brownies I help at decided what they want to do this term, some were more reasonable than others. The ideas ranged from a sleepover to ice skating and swimming, which is a little impractical when there are 34 of them. 5 Rainbows came up to Brownies and 1 Brownie left for Guides (another 3 are leaving in the next few months) which is sad but we get to have parties so more cake for the leaders!!!

I'm going on pack holiday with them in June, which is quite exciting because I didn't go to Brownies and I always wanted to go on pack holiday. I volunteered to go and the other leaders thought I was joking (apparently the Brownies are quite the handful on holiday) but I'm looking forward to it.

In February I finish my First Aid training and plan the expeditions, as well as sit my prelims at school. Looks like a fun month ahead!
