December 2008

December has not only been busy but fun too.

Good News Bells Palsy = Gone! (Although likely to happen again within the next 2years)

  • I have been to my best friend brothers birthday party (I was going as her guest not his)
  • Been to the local annual Victorian Evening (now known as The Christmas Festival)
  • Helped at Christingle with the Brownies Worked and Raised money at the an Enterprise Market
  • Had 2 weeks of exams with a week of study leave
  • Had a carol evening with Brownies at the local old people home
  • Been to a Council Party
  • Meet-up in Hertford Mad Science Party with the brownies
  • Been to see Twilight with friends
  • Helped at Battle of The Bands
  • Been to see a friend with M.E
  • Been to my cousins in the lakes for Christmas

Accompanying my best friend to her brothers party turned out to be hilariously funny. Not only did it take us half the evening to figure out that one of them was a guy in our year's younger brother but we almost burnt our mouths off. The one mistake of the evening was ordering the Hot Americana. Jalapeno peppers and spicy pepperoni with a hot and spicy tomato sauce, the coc-cola was definitely needed. Once the birthday boy was embarrassed in the middle of the restaurant with flashing lights, a dancing dog and a fall off his chair in the process, we were randomly walking around the car park when we spotted a privately owned limo.

Who could it have been?

A few days afterward (straight after brownies) a group of 11 of my friends and me, headed into town. The high street light with bright colours, packed in crowds, music and the screams from the flying wheel thing. We headed down the back alley way to find someones house, we arrived with nobody home, a mobile phone call later and they came running down the street key at the ready. Dropping stuff off we left after 10 mins to hit the rides. Waltzers the perfect opener for the fast rides, 4 of us in one car spinning round and round. We had a few goes before me and Kim headed onto the upside down spinner. Strapped into the seat we were spun at high speeds laughing all the way upside down. Smoke screen surrounding the ride made it a rather spooky experience. Getting off wobbly we headed off to buy some hot chocolate from outside the church. Walking down the now almost empty road at almost 11pm I found 2 of my other friends leaving Kim to go home we headed to the Chinese for dinner before heading back the now misty road. Not being able to even see some cars headlights was quite creepy it now being at least 10 passed 11 on a Friday night.

I set down revising 2 days later my exams started. 2 weeks of exams, and a week of study leave. Anytime we didnt have an exam on study leave was always spent with friend, may it be at there houses or out in one of the larger towns near by shopping or purely just messing about. It was a horrid 2 weeks and I dont think I did enough revision but that will all show when we have RESULTS DAY on the 16th of Jangreat fun!

For the end of term at brownies we brought in Mad Science also one of the leader's sisters. They got the chance to make putty. Fun mixed with information. I am sure most of them wont remember that Dry Ice tastes of Carbon Dioxide and the word Sublimation. (Sublimation is when a solid skips being a liquid and goes straight to a gas due to its low boiling point. Or something like that). The leaders and sister then went round to have a meal. We had a night relaxing with lasagne and salad followed by bread and butter pudding. Lovely.

The day school ended was mental. I left home at 8am and didnt get back until half 11 that night. At 12:30 school ended and a group of 8 of us headed back to Laura to dump stuff before heading off to the bus stop. I still had my bags with me as I knew that it was tight timing for me tonight. We got to the bus stop and waited for over an hour waiting for a bus as the one we were going to get missed our stop. Silly Pete. Jumping on the bus paying the 20 for the 8 of us to get to Hemel we sat texting each other as we were separated laughing and happy. We got off the bus and immediately started the 1 mile walk up the steep hill to the cinema. 4 went ahead buying the tickets for us. We reached the cinema bought drinks and headed on in. Adverts being missed of the beginning the screaming started straight away, my friend making cheesy comments making us laugh the whole way through the teen vampire, romance story. Running out of the cinema I checked the time20mins to get to the gig on time. I rang my mum in urgency asking her to pick 4 of us up while the others got a bus back. We said our goodbyes as we headed to get something to eat from Maccy Ds. I hadnt eaten anything all day and this was all I would get for the whole night (well so I thought).

Getting to the gig just on time I had my briefing and got to work. Making sure that the cloakroom was in order before helping at the ticket stand sell tickets last minute. The bands were amazing for the bits that I saw them and I was pleased that the band I knew some of the players in won an award. It turned out that pizza was ordered by the Chair of the Council (as Battle of the Bands is run by the Youth Town Council) so I was offered some of that. After helping clear up I headed home and slept after replying to important emails.

For Christmas we headed on a 4 hour drive to the Lake District. 2 hours in my mums corsa and then another 2 in my cousins new Audi. Getting to the house we had a couple of hours to relax before heading down to the pub for a meal. Heading back at 11pmish Pete headed to bed as he had to work Christmas day and had to be up at 7am. Getting up at almost midday we opened presents as dinner cooked before heading out for a walk along the canal. We got back and Pete was back. I went back to sleep for a bit as I had a headache and woke up as we opened stockings before eating dinner around 9 ish. Singing and funny jokes 3 hours later Pete headed to bed again due to work again while we played a 3 hour game or risk. We headed home the same way around 8am the next morning.
