I took my local SWITCH group kayaking on Thursday evening for my Queens Guide project. It was great fun if a little cold in the water but everyone had a good time splashing each other and the instructors.

I had a Queens Guide meeting this week. Ive only got 6 months left-eek but I seem to be on track at the moment which is good. Im going to be doing my exploration when Im out in Chile after GOLD so that should be interesting.

Went tobogganing with my youth group it was great fun but some of the boys seemed intent on making barriers on the slope so everyone crashed into them much to the amusement of them.

I had another phone conference for Chile this week which was very productive. We talked over our projects that we are working on as well as our group uniform and badges. I have now raised all the money which is really good.

16/17th May, after 4 months of training it was the weekend of the Moonwalk. My friends and I travelled up to London where I met my other friend who I would be walking with. There was an amazing atmosphere in Playtex City, Hyde Park where you could have temporary tattoos and a mini massage. There was live music from the BBC Big Band and who we think were Il Divo (we were right at the back and couldnt see properly!) we all looked resplendent in our bras- mine was black with felt pink, lilac and turquoise flowers all over it, lacing up the sides and the all important fringing in pink and black. At 11.30pm we set off on our 13.1 and 26.2 mile walks. Its very surreal walking through London at night in your bra but it was good fun and we even had time to stop for a photo opposite the London Eye. At the 8 mile marker and after a quick toilet stop it was time to say goodbye to two of my friends who were continuing on with the full marathon. At 3.30am we crossed the finish line. What a great night, a bit emotional but definitely worth all the training and the blisters.

We had the LaSER SWITCH evaluation day this month at CHQ. We all came away with Mehendi on our hands and feet and flowers that we had made out of icing. The girls also got to see some of the rehearsal for the Trooping of the Colour down The Mall which was very exciting.
