Helen's blogApril 2009Yay 2nd GOLD briefing weekend and the final one were all the groups will be present. What a great way to start the month with Girlguiding UKs Strictly Come Culture X-Factor Dancing Not on Ice! Team Chile presented Morris Dancing as their entry but lost out to Team Armenias Irish dancing. We also worked hard at the weekend with talks and presentations from the 4Cast team who visited us and gave us loads of hints and tips on session planning and ideas for ice breakers and we did lots more team building. Now Im working full time it makes you appreciate Bank Holidays even more, however no lie in for me as on Good Friday I had a 20 mile training walk for the moonwalk. It was going to be tough as I hadnt done any long walks since 14 miles but at least the weather was good. I could hardly walk when I finally got home but no sympathy as had to paint fence panels. Our Division had bag packing on Easter Saturday and I hobbled in still feeling the effects of the 20 mile walk the day before. Unfortunately there werent many people there but we still made some much needed money for out Centenary fund. I had my first Spanish lesson for Chile this month. It was interesting, its similar to French and Italian and we started off by learning the alphabet. Theres only 6 in our class including my old French teacher! |
