I'm a Young Leader!

Meet Jasmine. She's a Young Leader with a Brownie unit.

What does your role involve?

My role mainly involves enthusiasm! Enthusiasm, energy and excitement but also commitment and dedication. Its about helping those who are of a younger age and giving them fantastic opportunities and getting to know each other.

What do you love most about guiding?

I love camps. I love being on Brownie camps, helping to inspire the Brownies. I love working with and meeting new people, being part of a team, leading the Brownies with certain activities and most of all being active! More than anything I enjoy the outdoors and taking part in activities with new people I've met through guiding. I also enjoy laughing and singing camp songs!

What guiding achievement are you most proud of?

Being asked to help at the Brownie unit I currently work with. The teamwork and leadership skills I have learnt has helped me and my friends to begin to set up a Senior Section unit in our District.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about becoming a Senior Section member and taking on your role?

You need to be enthusiastic but go for it! Even if you dont know anybody else within the association just be confident and be yourself and have a go! You learn so many things from so many different people and its absolutely awesome! Everything is fun, from helping at Brownie meetings to international camps, you just have to put all your effort into it. Hard work pays off, so lend a hand with something and you will get something back even if its just knowing that you've helped somebody!
