I'm an Adult Leader!
What does your role involve? My role involves helping
young women realise the
opportunities out there for
them. I then help them to reach
and grab these opportunities. I
help plan, lead and facilitate
activities. I try to get the
ideas rolling from what the
girls would like to do, while at
the same time keep them
realistic. What do you love most about guiding?Everything. It is a break from everyday life. The friends it brings, the amazing life changing opportunities you can take part in. The ability to do things that you didn't even know you were capable of. What guiding achievement are you most proud of?Quite a few to be honest.
Being selected as an Assistant
Adult Leader on a regional trip
at the age of 19. Completing my
Queens Guide Award and also
becoming Vice Chair on the
Innovate planning team. Innovate
is Girlguiding UK's Forum for
Young Women but what does that
really mean? Simply, Innovate is
150 dynamic Senior Section
members giving their thoughts on
issues in guiding today and also
even more fun. What would you say to someone who is thinking about becoming a Senior Section member and taking on your role?I would ask, what is stopping
you? Go for it, you only live
once and make every moment
count. Enjoy, have fun and
enthuse others with your fun
outlook too. |
