World Thinking Day ceremony
World Thinking Day 2012 was marked with a
wreath-laying ceremony held at Westminster Abbey. Chief Guide, Gill
Slocombe and Girlguiding Scotland Chief Commissioner, Dinah Faulds,
led a Girlguiding delegation that included Vicky Carter and her
family from Scotland. Vicky’s family span almost all sections of
guiding, and it was an extra special day for Vicky’s daughter
Elizabeth (pictured) who made her Brownie Promise after the
service.

The service acknowledged Robert Baden-Powell,
and his wife, the former World Chief Guide Olave Baden-Powell, as
well as the continued work of Girlguiding and The Scout
Association. The wreath will remain in place for a week for any
members of guiding who wish to visit the Abbey. World Thinking
Day took place on 22 February.
