Welsh Assembly Member supports Girlguiding Cymru project

A member of the Welsh Assembly has supported Girlguiding Cymru’s Jubilee Vision project at the Royal Welsh Show.

Mark Isherwood, Assembly Member for North Wales, was invited to discuss the scheme, which has been conceived to mark the Queen’s Jubilee whilst providing opportunities for young people and the community.

Mr Isherwood, who is also the Shadow Minister for Communities and Housing, with special responsibility for North Wales, has been an ambassador for Girlguiding Clwyd for seven years.

He said, ‘Deputy Chief Commissioner for Wales, Viv Craig, who is the past Girlguiding Clwyd County Commissioner, told me that Jubilee Vision is a project to deliver major refurbishments needed at Girlguiding Cymru’s Centre, Broneirion, and to allow children and young people who visit the centre to participate in more adventurous and exciting outdoor activities.

‘In Wales there are significant areas of deprivation. Girlguiding Cymru consider that providing a variety of exciting opportunities in a beautiful rural setting for all children and young people whatever their socioeconomic group will enhance their wellbeing,’ Mr Isherwood added.
