Members make recycled instruments

Almost 200 young Girlguiding members have made musical instruments using recycled materials.

The girls, from Girlguiding Middlesex North West, then took to the stage at a local arts centre alongside a performing group with promotes recycling.

They were participating in the Harrow and Pinner Regatta Day, which was organised by Hilary West to celebrate the completion of her term as District Commissioner.

‘The day was most successful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves while learning at the same time,’ Hilary said.

She added, ‘I enjoyed seeing all the sections participating in activities, and particularly when we all joined for the grand finale with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Senior Section members. The appreciation was evident on the girls’ faces and was mutually conveyed later by the parents.'

Be challenged by new experiences & achieve a sense of pride in accomplishment.
