Members take part in Girls' World Forum
Two Girlguiding members have joined young
women from 145 countries to take part at the Girls’ World
Forum (GWF).
Amy, 17, and Isabelle, 14, have flown to Chicago, USA, for the
event, which aims to change the world one community at a
time.
GWF takes place from 12-16 July and is jointly hosted by the
World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and
Girl Scouts of the USA. All participants are aged 14–18, and the
Forum was created to demonstrate that young women can really
make a difference.
The event will address the world’s most urgent challenges and
consider ways to make a difference in girls'
communities. The issues discussed will be related to United
Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), including ending
poverty and hunger and promoting gender equality and environmental
sustainability. Afterwards, delegates will return home to put
their plans into action and start changing the world!
