Girls' World Forum report

Two Girlguiding members have taken part in the Girls’ World Forum (GWF) in Chicago, USA.

Amy, 17, and Isabelle, 14, joined 500 young women from 145 countries for the event, from 12-16 July, which was created to change the world one community at a time.

The girls and their chaperone, Helen, blogged about their experiences at the GWF, which was jointly hosted by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and Girl Scouts of the USA.

'I made friends from all around the world at the Forum and friends that I will keep for life,' Isabelle wrote.

'Moreover, just being able to walk over to anyone at the Forum and strike up a conversation was a really big confidence booster for me because it made me realise that if I can do this with these girls then surely I can do it with anyone else.

'Finally, the Forum has been so inspiring, I feel like I can return home and conquer the world. There is no problem or issue too large that we cannot overcome if we all join forces and work together,' she concluded.
