Girlguiding North West goes 'Up High'
Members from across Girlguiding’s North West England
Region have taken part in a weekend of outdoor activities ranging
from climbing to zip wire. ‘Up High’, which ran from 15-17 June,
provided girls and young women of all ages with the opportunity to
enjoy outdoors activities whilst celebrating guiding.
The Region held a zip wire challenge at Salford Quays, Greater
Manchester, and participants travelled 260 metres by zip wire over
the Manchester Ship Canal.
Other events arranged by guiding Counties in the area included
hiking in the Lake District, a trip on the Isle of Man’s Snaefell
Mountain Railway and a day of water-based activities such as
kayaking, Canadian canoeing and sailing.
Girlguiding offers a wide range of exciting, creative and
adventurous opportunities for girls and young women. Find out how
your daughter can get involved, or consider
volunteering to help make a difference to young people in your
area.
