Flame 2012 international camp

Girlguiding Hampshire West has hosted an international camp themed around the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Flame 2012 reflected virtues such as inspiration, courage and friendship in its programme, and was organised to take place with the start of the Games.

Participants at the event, which took place from 23-29 July, enjoyed adventurous activities like zip wire and survival skills. They also had the chance to try more unusual challenges, such as making and editing a film and recording a professional-quality CD. Attendees were able to watch the Games Opening Ceremony on the big screen.

It was held at the historic Princess Mary House at Foxlease, Girlguiding’s historic Training and Activity Centre in the New Forest.
