Drop into Poland camp

Back in September 2011, Guides from Nottinghamshire faced a tough selection weekend to prove they should join Guides and Scouts from Germany, Poland, Russia and Serbia at the ‘Drop into Poland’ international camp.

By the end, fourteen of them had been selected to join the UK contingent, along with Leaders Helen Chadwick and Nicola Wilson. The camp, in the forest south of Warsaw, ran from 31 August to 8 September.

‘It was an amazing and unforgettable experience,’ said Helen. ‘After spending one night at home in a proper bed, taking a hot shower and using a flushing toilet, we all wanted to go back to camp.

‘It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn from each other, experience life and culture in Poland, and form life-long friendships.’
