Funding for members with disabilities

Units may apply for funding on behalf of a girl, young woman or a Leader with a disability. Districts, Divisions or Counties may also apply for funding for projects that make guiding more accessible.

Examples of applications which will be considered:

  • to cover the cost of a ‘buddy’ for a member with a disability attending a camp or holiday
  • to purchase specialist equipment for a unit where a member has a disability
  • to cover the cost of specialist transport to a camp or holiday
  • to pay for disability awareness training for an individual or group
  • to provide training in practical skills such as manual handling.  

Applications should NOT be submitted for:

  • buddies for individuals in a unit on a long-term basis
  • transport to and from unit meetings
  • members of the Trefoil Guild or Trefoil Guild projects.

Download this application form and send it to your Country/Region Adviser for Members with Special Needs (SNA). Information about the form can be found here. You should be told whether your application has been successful within one month.
