When you first join Guides you will become a member of a Patrol. A Patrol is a group of friends that is small enough for everyone to feel they belong, and big enough to be a team that makes things happen!

So what makes a Patrol?

• A Patrol usually has four to eight members.
• You get to choose which Patrol you join.
• Members can be all the same age or mixed - you decide!
• The Patrol elects its own Patrol Leader (PL) and she then chooses her Second (deputy).
• Each Patrol chooses its own name.
• The Patrol makes decisions, makes plans and does activities together.
• Patrols and Patrol Leaders change from time to time.
• Most of all, Patrols have fun!
