Guides Celebrate the Centenary
The Centenary year is a year long celebration of 100 years of
guiding.
It’s been 100 years since the rally at Crystal Palace where
several small groups of girls approached Lord Baden–Powell and
asked for ‘something like the Scouts’ but for girls only.
How Guides have celebrated
so far...
During our Centenary year, Guides are spoilt for choice with a host of events and holidays designed just for them. Check out some of the event reports and blogs from Great Guide Get Aways such as:
- Great Guide Get Away to Switzerland
- Centenary Big Gig
- Winter Wonderland at Waddow Hall
- 2010 and then..
See the Your Experiences section of the Centenary website to see more event reports, photos, blogs and some videos too.

What's still to come for Guides?
The Centenary is well underway but there are still some fun and exciting ways for guides to get involved.
Fusion - The spectacular way to celebrate
Just imagine - one minute you could be taking part in a circus skills workshop, the next you are being serenaded by a strolling minstrel, and later be spellbound as part of an audience of thousands watching a drama unfold on stage!
See the Centenary website for what to expect
at Fusion.
