Chief Guide's Office

The Chief Guide's Office provides support to the Chief Guide in her role as chairman of the Trustees and the leader of the Movement.

Chief Executive's Office

The Chief Guide's Office provides support to the Chief Guide in her role as chairman of the Trustees and the leader of the Movement. It also provides support to The Council, Executive and Awards Committees of Girlguiding UK and is the main point of contact for The President and The Patron.

Membership Support Services

The Membership Support Services Department provides assistance and support to Girlguiding UK's Membership and Recognised Volunteers. Membership Support Services is responsible for the recruitment process for all adults, safeguarding, insurance, policy, the online manual and A to Z of activities. Membership Support Services also covers Commissioner support, Complaints and Concerns, grants administration, Go! support, and Branch Association and BGIFC administration.

Guiding Development

  • The Programme and Events team make sure that our diverse learning and activity programmes are driven by the interests and goals of today's girls. The team runs exciting large-scale national and international events such as the BIG GIG and GOLD Trips across the world.
  • The Leadership Team develops opportunities for our 80,000 adult volunteers to support them, enhance their skills and enable them to deliver a quality programme to girls and young women.

Marketing and Communications

The Marketing and Communications department comprises of the following teams: PR and Public Affairs, Fundraising and Marketing, Design and Communications and Archives. All Girlguiding UK publications are created in-house, including our quarterly guiding magazine.

Training Activity Centre (TAC)

Girlguiding UK also owns a number of Training and Activity Centres (TACs) around the UK where girls can take part in a range of exciting outdoor activities and events.

Human Resources

The Human Resources team provides advice and support to employees and line managers across Girlguiding UK.

Technology Services

Technology Services consists of three teams:

  • The Service Operations team has responsibility for the Service Desk as well as all infrastructure, including servers, desktops, printers, operating systems, Microsoft Office, network infrastructure and telephony.
  • The Application Delivery team has responsibility for the development of new applications, as well as the support of existing systems such as the online shop, Go! desktop, County Go!, intranet and Join us.
  • The Customer Relationship team takes care of the relationship between Technology Services and the internal customer, focussing on service level management, service reviews, customer requirements and customer satisfaction.

Finance and Business Development

The Finance and Business Development department deal with accounts, legal issues, Association insurance and our Trust Corporation.

Facilities

Facilities are responsible for Health and Safety, Office Refurbishments and Maintenance at Commonwealth Headquarters,
They also deal with the day to day stuff, for example cleaning contracts, photocopiers, office supplies, security and post.

Trading Service

Based in Altrincham, Cheshire, Trading Service is a multi-channel retailer and distributor operating a state-of-the-art warehouse supplying guiding uniform, gifts and publications to over 800 volunteer shops. They also operate an e-commerce website -http://girlguidingukshop.co.uk - and catalogue mail order service, providing vital income for Girlguiding UK.

What’s more, Trading Service is the home of the Sales and Members’ information team, providing advice and support and a range of services to Girlguiding UK members and their families.
