Iceland - Volcano Ice Cap trek

Iceland Volcano IcecapThis nine-day trek has incredible views of wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs and waterfalls. Combined with Iceland's rich history, literature and folklore, it's a fascinating country to explore.

Trek from the active Mount Hekla to Landmannalaugar and then head south through the mountains to the permanent icecaps of Myrdals and Eyjafjallajokull - 'Glacier of islands'.

The accommodation will be a mixture of camping and two or three-star hotels. The trek is considered ‘tough’ as during the main challenge you will need to be prepared for strong winds, rain and lovely sunny skies all in the same day! The terrain will vary from dirt track to loose ground and old snow and there will be steep inclines both up and down.
