Got a question that needs answering? This page will frequently be updated with the latest burning WWF questions suggested in the Girlguiding UK: Changing the World forum.
How is One Planet Challenge structured?
One Planet Challenge is built around five sessions which use an investigation of species and habitats as a way of exploring how our food and shopping choices affect the planet we all share. Units are expected to tackle at least three of the five sessions, including the celebratory ‘One Planet Future’.
How do the sessions work?
Each session offers key facts, activity outlines, resource sheets, briefing or fact sheets, plus ‘challenge’ ideas. The activities are planned around a learning cycle of motivating/building knowledge, making links, going deeper and taking action. But you may prefer to make your own journey through each session.
How do we gain the badge?
Complete any two of the following sessions: Wildlife and energy, Wildlife and the food we eat, Wildlife and the things we throw away and One Planet Local — plus the One Planet Future celebratory session. You will need to undertake three challenges from each session.
Does it matter when I start my One Planet Challenge?
You can opt to take part at any time during the year but note that two of the sessions — ‘Wildlife and what we throw away’ and ‘One Planet Local’ — invite you to take part in competitions which will be have a time restriction. We will keep updating the One Planet Challenge website.
