The Friendship Challenge
How to take part
- Download the activity pack and read the 'Take the Friendship Challenge' introduction before you begin.
- There are ten challenges to take part in.
- Hold an event.
- Make a friendship pledge.
How is this project unique?
Bullying is more common among girls than boys. The Mental Health Foundation wants the largest organisation for girls and young women to help them find out why.
Things to think about?
This project is designed for Guides and Senior Section members; it can be adapted for younger members who would like a challenge. Trefoil Guild and Leaders can adapt it as they wish.
Most of the activities can take place in your regular meetings and there are plenty of opportunities to take action by hosting an event of your choice.
While the activities have been designed with care, one or two of the challenges may leave members feeling upset because they touch on the issue of bullying. Advice is provided in the activity pack for Leaders.
How will you be taking action?
Raising awareness of the importance of friendship in maintaining good mental health.
Raising money for ground breaking research into girl on girl bullying.
Taking direct action by building and celebrating healthy friendships.
