Be a Climate Champion

How to take part

  1. Download the project resources
  2. Follow the Leaders pack week by week (each week contains enough activities to fill your unit meetings)
  3. Complete the climate challenges – there are ten for girls to do at home and a certificate for each one.

How is this project unique?

This is a unique opportunity for young people to take direct action on climate change and help to influence change across the UK. Each girl’s insight into the practical difficulties of being green will be gathered together and presented to the Government in a special report. We’ll use it to put pressure on decision-makers and businesses to help people everywhere live greener lives.

Things to think about

You will need to have internet access to complete this project.

There are lots of resources, so think before you print. Download the Leaders pack on to your computer, read the information in each booklet, but only print the activities and activity sheets. If you do want to print the whole pack, print double-sided. Print on recycled paper. And when you’ve finished the Be a Climate Champion challenge, don’t bin the pack, recycle it.

How will you be taking action?

  • Raising awareness of how climate change is affecting our lives and inspiring more people to save energy.

Taking direct action by joining with other Girlguiding UK members to make an important C02 saving and telling the Government how they could make it easier for people to live greener lives.
