How to take part
- Download the appropriate pack for your section.
- Take part in activities in your meeting place to learn the key facts on the importance of empowering girls through education.
- Raise funds for girls to go to school and send the money to Camfed.
- Raise the roof by using your voices to help increase understanding of girls' education in Africa..
How is this project unique?
By taking up Camfed’s project you will quite literally change the lives of African girls by raising money to support their education and by raising your voices to tell other people about the problems that face them. You will learn why girls miss out on education and, best of all, will have a chance to really do something about it. What we’re saying is, if you’ve got a voice – use it! Use it to support girls who can’t make themselves heard and need your help.
Things to think about
You can be as adventurous as you like with this project. The activities are flexible and packed with suggestions and ideas for learning, raising money, and spreading the word. There is something for every age group, with games, crafts, songs and optional multimedia including films, music, radio interviews and photos of real life in Africa.
A big part of the project is organising a Shout Out event, and suggestions for how to do it are given in the pack. Some of the fundraising activities we’ve suggested can involve outdoor activities, events, sleepovers, and other fun things, but it’s up to you if you want to choose these, choose other options, or come up with your own ideas.

Taking part in Camfed's If you've got a voice - use it! project couldn't be easier. Simply download the resources below according to the section you work with.
The activity packs are for all four sections and include guidance and helpful notes throughout. Trefoil Guild members and Leaders can adapt any of the packs and we suggest you start with the Senior Section pack first. There is lots of help and support to deliver the important activities but you can be as adventurous as you like with the whole project.
This project contains excellent resources and information to help empathise with others and build skills in communication needed to run an awareness raising campaign.
