The British Red Cross

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

The British Red Cross is changing the world by helping people in a crisis – wherever they are. We respond to emergencies by mobilising the power of humanity, working alongside individuals, communities and the emergency services to strengthen community resilience and ensure that people are better equipped to cope in a crisis.

Why they want to work with you

We hope that through this partnership young people will have a greater understanding of how people are affected by emergencies and will be empowered to take action by learning life-saving and emergency response skills.

Girlguiding UK members will become true humanitarian citizens with the power to take action in a crisis and have the confidence to say: ‘I can do something to help’. We hope that Girlguiding UK members across the country will enjoy the project, learn from it and be motivated to become more involved with how the British Red Cross is changing the world.
