Ubuntu - I am because you are

11,223 members took part in Ubuntu: I am because you are, raising a huge £33,000, which is enough money to send 26,400 books to Africa to support literacy in developing countries and help change lives. A further 16,787 people attended reading tents raising awareness of how books change lives in local communities.

Jacqueline Wilson supported Changing the World and Book Aid International by visiting Rainbows, Brownies and Guides and gave them an exclusive book reading of her latest book, 'Cookie'.

'It's great to hear about the fantastic work Guides and Brownies have done for Book Aid International.' Jacqueline said. 'It is a pleasure to come along to see the girls and give something back to them for all the time and effort they have put into the project.'

Brownie Isabella Economides aged 8 said, 'I'm really excited to be meeting Jacqueline Wilson today, I love all her books. We chose to support Book Aid as part of our Changing the World Project and we all enjoyed learning more about the reading tents.'
