Why Reading Tents?

If you have a tent, Reading Tents are really flexible and you can hold them in lots of kinds of places. In Uganda, Reading Tents are attended by lots of people and provide them with the opportunity to read lots of kinds of books – your Reading Tent will be just as popular!

What if we don’t have a tent?

If you don’t have a tent, don’t worry! You can hold your event in a school or community hall instead. To make it feel like a tent you could drape material along the ceiling and the doors and put lots of comfy cushions on the floor

Can we send Book Aid International second hand books?

Unfortunately not. We now receive the majority of our books direct from publishers. This means that we are able to send brand new, high quality and relevant books to our partners in Africa. We have limited space and staff resources in our warehouse so we no longer have the capacity to manage and sort donations of second hand books. However, although we have lots of great new books, we still need help covering the costs of sorting, packing, shipping and evaluating their use which is why we need you to raise as much money as you can for Book Aid International!
