Asthma UK is delighted to be working with Girlguiding UK to change the world. Anyone taking part in the Asthma Trigger Happy project can learn about asthma and its triggers, and will gain potentially life-saving knowledge of how to help someone having an asthma attack.

Asthma UK

Asthma UK is the charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of over five million people with asthma in the UK.  Asthma UK works with people with asthma, healthcare professionals and researchers to develop and share expertise to help people increase their understanding and reduce the effect of asthma on their lives.

We aim to increase awareness and understanding of asthma among girls and young women across the UK. This will have a huge impact on the understanding shown to thousands of people with asthma in the UK, and young people’s ability to manage their own condition, or help those around them who may suffer the effects of an asthma attack.

Asthma UK changes the world today for people with asthma by providing life-saving services such as our Adviceline. Our highly experienced nurses can be the difference between life and death for some of the 8,000 people who contact the service each year. We want to change the world of tomorrow through our ground-breaking and innovative research into the causes and possible treatments for asthma, and our overriding goal as an organisation is to find a cure that will free people with asthma from its control over their lives.

Why they want to work with you

Asthma UK is delighted to be working with Girlguiding UK to change the world for the one in ten children who have asthma in the UK. Anyone taking part in the Asthma Trigger Happy project can learn loads about asthma and its triggers, and will gain potentially life-saving knowledge of how to help someone having an asthma attack.

Through the Changing the World campaign, Asthma UK wants to reach new generations of young women who have the potential to effect a real and lasting change for people with asthma in the UK. By knowing about and understanding the condition, Girlguiding UK members can help to break down some of the barriers that prevent young people with asthma from achieving their potential.
