Sangam
Sangam in India is one of the four World Centres owned by the
World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Sangam –
which means 'coming together' in Sanskrit – is set in the heart of
the large, modern city of Pune. But you can find peace and
tranquility in its leafy gardens and cool off in its
refreshing swimming pool.
Activities and events
Sangam offers a wide range of interesting and challenging
things to do:
- Take part in international events with themes such as 'The
Spice of Life in India', 'Revealing the Real Woman' and 'Leadership
in a Changing World.'
- Join children's camps where young people can get involved in
worthwhile community projects.
- Discover Pune with its fascinating historic sites,
bustling shops and street markets.
- Go on an Explore India tour to the Taj Mahal, Jaipur and
Delhi.
- Participate in a three-month Community Volunteer Programme
working with Indian community organisations (for adult WAGGGS
members).
Activities can also be tailored to the needs of your
group.
