Roverway 2012 - Finland
What is it?
Roverway is an exciting
outdoor international event for Guides and Scouts from across
Europe. It will include cultural experiences, hikes and an
enormous camp! It's an amazing opportunity to make new
friends, learn about a new culture and have a great international
adventure! Roverway will take place in Finland on
20 to 28 July 2012.
Find out about some of the
amazing adventures our Contingent will have at Roverway with the
online
pathfinder. They will be having some incredible
experiences, from becoming a journalist to hiking,
canoeing or even sauna-ing!
Who can go?
Roverway is open to Senior
Section members, Rovers and Rangers aged between 16 and
22. The event is organised jointly by the World Association of
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of
the Scout Movement (WOSM) so participants will join thousands of
other young people. Those over 22 can apply to be part of the
International Service Team (IST).

International Service Team
An International Service Team (IST) of
Guides and Scouts aged over 22 will work to support the running of
the event; the Finnish organisers have asked for a good team of
'strong workers'! The roles for the IST will be varied: some could
be supporting the path stage of the event, others helping to build
camp but it has been promised that none of the IST will be
cleaning toilets…
There is still an opportunity to be
involved with the IST as we can register new members until
March - email roverway@girlguiding.org.uk
for more information.
