Adult Adventures
The Centenary gave all our members great opportunities to
celebrate the successes and achievements of Girlguiding UK and show
the outside world what guiding is all about in the 21st
century!
The vast array of activities and events on offer ensured there
were enough opportunities for not only the girls to enjoy but also
for Leaders and adult volunteers to take part in too.

We offered a small selection of events just for
adult volunteers and Trefoil Guild members, including
mountaineering and ice-axing in the Cairngorm Mountains, crewing a
Tall Ship around the British Isles in partnership with the Jubilee
Sailing Trust, and scaling Munro for a literal ‘mountain-top
moment’.
Let’s not forget to mention the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
to try remote camping in the glacial mountains of Sweden on the
Ultimate Arctic Adventure.
The Centenary had it all, both abroad and at home. The Centenary
Tours for Adults took adult and Trefoil Guild members and their
friends around the UK soaking up sights of historic and geographic
significance to Britain, as well as places of guiding interest.
Adults across the UK took up the challenge to ‘Create Your Own
Adventure’ and came up with a whole range of celebrations from
trips to theme parks to globe-trotting adventures. One group of
Leaders from our South West Region trekked to Kala Patar in Nepal
for a literal mountain-top moment to see Mount Everest.
