Guides Celebrate the Centenary
The Centenary year was a year-long celebration of 100 years of
guiding.
It’s been over 100 years since the rally at Crystal Palace, where
several small groups of girls approached Lord Baden–Powell and
asked for ‘something like the Scouts’ but aimed at
girls.
How did Guides celebrate?
During our Centenary year, Guides were spoilt for choice with a host of events and holidays designed just for them. Check out some of the event reports and blogs such as:

Vision
Our Centenary year ended with a big bang! On 20:10pm on 20 October 2010, Girlguiding UK celebrated the end of our year-long birthday. It was a chance to reaffirm the Promise in solidarity with Guides nationwide, and get ready for the next 100 years. You can read about it on the Centenary website, plus watch watch Chief Guide Liz Burney's Vision broadcast.
