BIG GIG 2013
Do
you know about the BIG GIG? The BIG GIG is a pop concert for Girlguiding members aged ten and over. Lots of Guides from all over the UK come
to the BIG GIG to see the latest top pop acts. In 2012, we had JLS,
Scouting For Girls, Little Mix and many more.
Read backstage interviews with some of the artists who performed at the last BIG GIG!
The next BIG GIG will be taking place in Birmingham on Saturday 1 June 2013.
In the meantime, register on the BIG GIG 2013 forum and start telling us who you want to see on the BIG GIG stage. Our man-in-the-know who books our acts reads this forum to see who you want, then tries to get them for you!
A Girlguiding concert first took place in
Manchester MEN in 1999, in association with Mizz magazine. Back then
it was a small concert in a theatre. In 2000 we used
the Millennium Dome to host GIG 2K, an activity day at which a
number of the participants had tickets to a concert.
In 2001 the BIG GIG was born, and since then it has gone from strength
to strength - in 2003 it was the fastest-selling concert at Wembley Arena at the time. It
grew further in 2004, when the team first held two concerts in one
day at the MEN. Since then we have moved the BIG GIG around the UK,
selling out tickets before any artists have been announced.
