Fantastic Mr Fox is the
story of Mr Fox, his wife and their four
cubs. Mr Fox regularly helps himself to
chickens and ducks from three horrible
farmers. One day, the farmers decide that
they have had enough and try to dig out the
Fox family. When that doesn't work, they
wait for the Fox family to come out. What
they don't know is that the family have dug
their way right into the barns of the
farmers and are helping themselves to
chickens, vegetables and cider. The family
meet lots of other animals along the way and
share their feast with them.

I remember reading Fantastic Mr Fox
when I was a little girl and I loved
reading it again for the Book Club. I
see a lot of foxes where I live and I
always think of them as horrible
creatures, but reading this book makes
me feel sorry for them. I just wish that
the farmers could be nicer and help out
the Fox family every now and again. I
don't think I have ever read a Roald
Dahl book that I don't like. This has to
be one of my favourites - along with
George's Marvellous Medicine and
The BFG.

I read Fantastic Mr Fox last year when
our school made us write a review on one
of his books for Roald Dahl day. I
chose this book and got it from my local
library. I wish that the farmers weren't
so mean and let the Fox family have some
chickens because the fox cubs sound so
cute!

I read Fantastic Mr Fox a few months ago.
I loved it. I do not really like reading but I love animal books so
I got it and I read it loads now. I felt really sorry for Mr
Fox and his family. The farmers are so mean but I loved the book.

I only read this book a few weeks ago and it was the best book I've ever read! I love the bit where the foxes are stealing all the food from the farmers! It's very funny! I wish the farmers at least let the foxes have a few chickens and hens! I thought it was funny when the farmers were digging into the foxes' den and getting no nearer to the foxes because the foxes were moving all the time! I think fox cubs are very cute!

I read it at school and I thought the book was brilliant. I also
thought that the baby foxes were
really cute so were all of the other babies in the book.
I like the part when they were under the ground and having a huge feast on the farmers' food and the farmers
were going crazy about their food. I liked the book, it was
fabulous.

I thought that Fantastic Mr Fox was a really great book. I really enjoyed
it. But my favourite part about it was the end.
('And so far as I know, they are still waiting.')

This book was great. The cubs were cute!
But it was also sad and animals really do get treated like this.
People around the world should be nice and help out animals and
people. This all makes a great community!

Alexandra, aged seven thinks this...
I have just read Fantastic Mr Fox.
It is my favourite story and I also listen to it on audio book every night at bedtime. My favourite part is when Mr
Fox is getting all the food for the feast, the worst part is when Mr Fox's tail gets shot off.

In school we are learning about Roald Dahl. I love
Fantastic Mr Fox, but Matilda comes second best. One thing
I love about the book is that the fox is shown as a person, a clever man fighting for his, and his family's lives. I love the way Mr Fox outwitted the farmers, serves them right! They are mean and horrible and they deserved
everything they got!
